The 2011 Concoridia men's water polo team had 13 members selected to the 2011 Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches Men's All-Academic Team. The Eagles succeeded in the pool and in the classroom, as they went 32-5 in 2011, the most wins in school history.
CUI did not lose a game to a non-NCAA Division I foe all season. Their losses came to UC Santa Barbara, UC Davis, University of the Pacific, CSU Long Beach, and eventual national champion, USC. Concordia recorded a huge win on September 24 when they beat #7 UC Santa Barbara on the road, 8-6.
Concordia senior water polo players Duje Grubisic and Caleb Hamilton were selected as Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches All-Americans.
"I'm really proud that the Concordia men's water polo team has placed 13 players on the NCAA All-Academic team this year," head coach Steve Carrera said. "This is so meaningful for me because of all the traveling that we had to do during the first couple months of the season."
The Academic All-Americans include three levels; Outstanding (4.00 - 3.71 GPA), Superior (3.70 - 3.41 GPA), and Excellent (3.40 - 3.20 GPA). CU's honorees are:
