Former Concordia women's basketball player Jody Steliga, who played at CUI from 2005 to her graduation in 2007 and is currently the head coach at Mendocino College in Ukiah, CA, was recently selected as the Bay Valley Conference Coach of the Year.

She is in her fifth season at MC and led her team to the Bay Valley Tournament Conference Championship game with an overall record of 15-13.  She came to CUI in 2005 after playing two seasons at Mendocino College.  Steliga was selected as a GSAC and NAIA Scholar-Athlete her senior season at CUI.
