Ready to Travel to Ann Arbor, MI for UM Tourney with 13-7 Record

 

On Friday, Saturday, and Wednesday, March 9th, 10th and 14th, the Concordia women's water polo team competed in a total of five games, winning four.  On Friday and Saturday the games were part of the Claremont Convergence, hosted at Pomona-Pitzer College in Claremont, CA.  In each of those days the Eagles competed in two contests, Friday's games were against the University of Redlands and California Lutheran, and on Saturday, the games were against the California Institute of Technology and Claremont McKenna.  CU was victorious in three out of the four games.  On Wednesday, Concordia competed against George Washington at the William Wollett Aquatic Complex in Irvine, CA.  The Eagles won the game 12-7.

On Friday, in the game against the University of Redlands, the Eagles won 8-4.  CU's Kathryn Manderino had three goals for the game, while Chelsea Datt kept Redlands from scoring with eight saves.  In a close game against California Lutheran University, CU lost by a final score of 10-12.  On Saturday, the Eagles defeated the California Institute of Technology 16-3.  Scoring three goals each for CU was Kathryn Manderino and Jamie ClarkCatalina Barraza and Hannah Bennett each netted two goals for the Eagles.  Tallying one goal each for Concordia was Alex Barnes, Michaela Hund, Allie Flath, Chante' Lundskog, and Sheri Gallegos-LewisChelsea Datt had seven saves and three steals.  In the final game of the weekend, the Eagles competed and won against Claremont 13-5.  Jamie Clark was on top of her game, as she netted five goals for the Eagles, while Kathryn Manderino tallied four goals.  Keeping Claremont from scoring was Chelsea Datt with 11 saves. 

On Wednesday, Concordia triumphed over #9 (CWPA Division I/II) George Washington. Scoring an incredible six goals for CU was Kathryn Manderino.  Jamie Clark scored three goals, while Alex Barnes, Haley Ring, and Maria Quiroz each tallied one goal.  Chelsea Datt had a remarkable game with 17 saves.      

CU will head to Ann Arbor, MI on the campus of the University of Michigan for the Michigan Invite March 16-18.
