RIVERSIDE, CA --- Tanner Remai swam a leg of two first-place relay squads, as Concordia's men's team finished second at the PCSC Relays to open the 2008-09 campaign.
Remai completed a trio of Nick Bertagna and Mike Perry that posted a time of 2:38.75 to win the 300 fly relay to start his afternoon and swam the anchor leg of the Eagles' first-place time of 3:43.98 in the 400 IM later in the day.
Perry also swam the first leg of a first-place 200 free relay team that turned in a time of 1:26.93, helping the Eagles to finish with 217 points--just 21 behind three-time defending NAIA champion California Baptist.
The team of Perry, Mike Jessop, Joe Krone, and Jimmy Cule posted second-place time of 7:15.48 in the 800 free relay as the Eagles notched seven top-three finishes on the afternoon.
Meanwhile, the Concordia women's team finished fifth with 74 points and were highlighted by a fourth-place mark of 3:33.92 in the 300 breast relay, swam by Katie Moore, Sam Gelberger and Melissa Maestas.
The Eagles swim in the California Baptist Pentathlon tomorrow morning starting at 9:30 at the Lancer Aquatics Center.
