Goldpanners set to open season in Kenai

FAIRBANKS—Defense will be on manager Jim Dietz's mind when the Alaska Goldpanners face the Peninsula Oilers in Kenai on Wednesday, marking the team's return to full-fledged status in the Alaska Baseball League after playing last year as an affiliate member.

Concordia junior catcher Chris Lee is playing for the Alaska Goldpanners of the amateur collegiate summer league, the Alaska Baseball League.  The Goldpanners are based in Fairbanks, Alaska and Lee's summer season gets underway on Wednesday, June 13.
