CU senior Christian Ramirez picked up his first goal of the year at the 26:53 mark when he scored on a header in the lower left slot on a cross from Jacob Young.  Cal Poly Pomona tied the game at 33:01 as Abraham Gomez scored on a redirected free kick.  CPP took the lead 2-1 at 56:22 when Justyn Peeples headed in a goal off a corner kick.  Eagle senior William Prado tied the game at 75:46 when he finished off a corner kick from William Velasquez that bounced off the goalkeeper.  At 89:17 William Velazquez picked a great time to find his first goal of the year when he punched home a penalty kick for the CU win.

The Eagles attacked all game long, outshooting CPP 26-11 and eight to three in shots on goal.  Ramirez led the Eagles with four shots on goal.  Concordia junior Julio Trejo played all 90 minutes in goal, recording two saves to earn his first win in 2012, going to 1-0.

"It was a great response by our guys today," CU head coach Chris Gould said.  "I know they were disappointed with the loss to Grand Canyon as they dominated a lot of that match."

The Eagles improved to 1-1 on the season and are back in action on Saturday, September 1 at 12 pm against #15 Kansas Wesleyan at Eagles Field.  Follow live stats at http://www.cuieagles.com/live/soccer/xlive.htm.
