The newly-minted #7 Concordia Eagles drew to a 2-2 tie on Friday, September 7 against (RV) Concordia (OR) in Portland, OR.

 

Christian Ramirez found his fourth of the year when he stole the ball from a Cavalier inside the box just five minutes into the game and put it through the right corner from 12 yards out.  William Prado made it 2-0 Eagles at 30:22 when he controlled a high ball and nailed it through the right side from 15 yards out.  It was Prado's fifth goal of the year. 

At 67:54 Concordia (OR) scored their first of the game as the ball deflected off an Eagle and Patrick Allred scored from 15 yards.  The Cavaliers tied it in heartbreaking fashion for CU at the 87:51.  Septl Danciu controlled a ball off a throw in and scored from five yards out.

The teams played to a draw in both overtimes and will take the one point in the standings.  The Eagles outshot CU (OR) 24-20, but was outshot 10-7 in shots on goal.  Julio Trejo had eight saves for Concordia in goal.  William Whiddon played the final 45 minutes in the net.  Ramirez fired six shots, while Prado had five.  Concordia looked strong early, but let the Cavaliers close the gap in the second half.

The Eagles went to 3-1-1 on the year, while CU (OR) went to 1-2-1.  Concordia (CA) is back in action tomorrow at 2:30 pm against Warner Pacific at David Douglas HS in Portland, OR.
