Concordia University's tennis season got an early start last week and a couple singles championships are a great sign for the GSAC season in the spring.

The CU men's and women's teams competed in the USTA/ITA Small College Regional Championships hosted by Biola University in La Mirada, CA, September 27-29.

Concordia senior Micah Groom and Bruno Kliskinic both advanced to the men's singles championship, with Kliskinic taking the title (6-4, 6-2). 

On the women's side CU's Elizaveta Ignatova won the women's singles crown (7-5, 4-6, 6-1) over Lewis-Clark State College's Dorothy Chong.

Both Kliskinic and Ignatova advanced to the USTA/ITA Small College National Championships at the Copeland-Cox Tennis Center in Mobile, AL, October 11-14.
