The #19 Concordia Eagles continued to stumble early in the 2012 GSAC schedule as they fell to #22 The Master's 2-0 in Santa Clarita, CA on Wednesday, October 3.
Janelle Sullivan scored an unassisted goal just 7:48 in to give TMC the 1-0 lead. Jasmine Benson scored before halftime at 24:04 on an assist from Tara Struiksma to make it 2-0 Mustangs.
Neither team scored in the second stanza, and TMC took the home win. Concordia outshot TMC 18-12 and a slight edge of 11-10 in shots on goal. Both goalkeepers played well, as Ilyssa Espiritu took the win with 11 saves in her shutout effort. Concordia goalkeeper Bekah Garvin had eight saves, but dropped to 6-4 on the year.
Megan Daniels and Taylor Benton led the Eagles with six and four shots, respectively.
Concordia fell to 6-4 and 1-2 in conference, while The Master's improved to 8-1-2 and 3-0 in the GSAC. Concordia looks to rebound from two straight GSAC losses on Saturday, October 6, at 12 pm at San Diego Christian.
