The #12 Concordia Eagles finished their 2013 regular-season series with Westmont on Saturday afternoon, April 6, at Eagles Field.

Ryan DiMascio was the hero for Concordia in game one, as the senior third baseman came up with two outs, the bases loaded, and the Eagles trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the ninth.  DiMascio deposited the 2-0 pitch off the right field fence to score two and lead the Eagles into walkoff celebration.  Ty Holm and Chris Kuber singled to start the inning, and Cody Smith walked, forcing a Westmont pitching change.  Reliever Brian Murphy came in to strike the first two batters out, but DiMascio saved the day for CU and delivered the win.

Chris Garrison started for CU and went seven and a third innings, allowing five hits, two runs, with four K's in the no-decision.  Blake Harrison finished the game, allowing one hit and earning the win (4-0).  DiMascio and Spencer Ofelt had doubles, and Chris Kuber had two hits and an RBI.  In the ninth Kuber was squared to bunt after Holm's single, but pulled it back and singled to right field.  Smith also did an excellent job working pitches to get the walk, as he was also squared to sacrifice.  Concordia had seven hits on the game with one error.

Westmont took a 1-0 lead in the first on an RBI double.  Justin Hodges singled with one out in the third and Matt Palmer followed with a single to left.  Kuber singled to left with one out to tie the game.  WC used two singles and an RBI groundout to go up 2-1 in the fourth.  Concordia wasted a one-out double in the fourth, were caught stealing in the sixth, but came through in the clutch in the decisive ninth inning.

Game two kept with the comeback theme for CU, as the Eagles scored five in the fifth inning to overcome a 2-1 Warrior lead and win 6-3, taking two-of-three in the series.  Adam Quintana started for CU, going six innings, allowing three runs, six hits, with five K's improving to 6-2.  Danny Romero allowed one hit in the seventh and earned his second save.  Cody Smith hit the go-ahead three-run home run to right field in the fifth.  Spencer Ofelt had three hits and an RBI, including a double and triple, coming up a home run short of the cycle.

Ofelt tripled with one out in the second and scored on DiMascio's sac fly to right.  After two singles, a double to center gave WC a 2-1 lead in the third.  Hodges walked to start the fifth for CU, moved to second on a sac bunt, and Ty Holm singled to center to tie the game.  Another runner reached on a Westmont error and after a Westmont pitching change, Smith took the second pitch of the at-bat over the right field wall for the 5-2 lead.  Next up Bryan Garza singled, Ofelt doubled him home with a shot in the left center gap making it 6-2.  A leadoff double led to one Warrior run in the seventh, but Romero quickly slammed the door.

Concordia improved to 28-13, 17-10 in the GSAC, took four-of-six from the Warriors this season, and trail The Master's by 3.5 games for the GSAC lead.  Westmont fell to 21-20 and 12-18 in conference on their trip to Irvine.  Concordia begins a six-game road trip at Biola on Friday, April 12 at 3:00 pm.  The Eagles wrap up their most recent eight-game home stand at 6-2.
