IRVINE, CA --- While it awaits its trip to Sioux City, IA, to play in the 2008 NAIA National Championships, the NAIA's No. 3-ranked Concordia was honored with three All-GSAC recipients, it was announced Wednesday.

Traci Weamer and Stephanie Scheele each repeated a 2007 selection, as Chelsea Scott was named to the all-conference squad for the first time in her career.

It was the third such award for Weamer, whose career total of 1,027 kills ranks fifth on the school charts. A two-time NAIA All-American second-team selection, Weamer leads the team with 321 kills and is second with 340 digs on the 2008 campaign and earned GSAC Player of the Week Oct. 27.

Scheele, just six kills away from tying the school all-time record of 1,166, earned her second consecutive All-GSAC award after receiving an NAIA All-American third-team nod in 2007. She is second to Weamer with 298 kills on the season and third on the team with 75 blocks.

Scott, a junior libero, leads the team with 384 digs on the year and has compiled 1,116 digs in her career, good for fifth-most in the school books.

Concordia also earned a total of five GSAC Scholar-Athlete awards in 2008, with Weamer and Scheele both acheiving the feat for the second year in a row.

Fellow seniors Bailey Schade and Jamie Friedrich were also among the recipients, as Schade earned her second career Scholar-Athlete award. Taylor Jacobs, a junior, received her first Scholar-Athlete accolades.
