RIVERSIDE, CA --- The Eagles had a strong showing in freestyle events, particularly on the men's side, where Concordia won three free races, but defending NAIA Champion California Baptist swept the Eagles, 173-115 on the men's and 182-78 on the women's in a dual meet Saturday. 

Mike Perry won the 100 and 200 free events with times of 47.00 and 1:43.87, respectively, and also swam on a first-place 200 free relay squad that posted a first-place mark of 1:27.51.

Both teams drop their first dual meets of the year, with the women falling to 4-1 and the men falling to 3-1 in head-to-head competition.

Damien Bernard swam a time of 52.04 to take first place in the 100 fly, rounding out the individual victories for the men, while a 200 medley relay group of Jimmy Cule, Eric Korzeniowski, Nick Bertagna and Robert Blakeley turned in a first-place mark of 1:37.34.

Tuesday Schellinger swam a top time of 25.50 in the 50 free and also swam the final leg of a first-place 200 free relay team also including Jessica Cook, Melissa DiGregorio and Ashley McClure that touched out at 1:44.66.

Both teams compete in the Cal Lutheran Tournament tomorrow (Sunday, Dec. 14) at 6 p.m. in Long Beach.
