FRESNO, CA --- Concordia's women used eight first-place finishes to down both Biola and the NAIA's No. 2-ranked Fresno Pacific, as the No. 5 Concordia men beat Biola and out-swam No. 2 Fresno Pacific, only to fall to the Sunbirds on the diving boards.

The Eagle women's team finishes the dual meet season at 6-1, with their its loss coming to No. 1-ranked and defending NAIA champion California Baptist, as 12 swimmers qualify for the NAIA National Championships (March 4-7).

Last year, in the inaugural season of the program, Concordia's women sent just five athletes to the championships.

The men finish the dual meet portion of the season at 4-3, as they were out-scored just 157-137 by Fresno Pacific, which used three finishes on the 3-meter board and two dives from the 1-meter board to secure the victory over Concordia. The difference on teh diving board meant 32 points to the Sunbirds.

Concordia's men's squad will send the maximum 18 athletes to the NAIA National Championships.

Concordia competes next at the PCSC Championships Feb. 18-21 in Long Beach, the last meet before the national meet.
