IRVINE, CA --- The Eagles were unable to pick up a key victory in Golden State Athletic Conference play, as California Baptist buried 10 three-pointers, including six from the hand of Jeanine Deno, to hand Concordia an 82-62 home loss.

Deno finished with 26 points and nine boards for the Lancers, who went 10-for-16 from beyond the arc to improve to 15-10 on the year, including 7-8 in GSAC play.

The loss could put Concordia in a dangerous position when it comes to earning a needed top-eight spot in the conference to advance to the GSAC Tournament. The Eagles (12-11, 5-10 GSAC) split the season series with California Baptist at 1-1, missing out on an automatic playoff tiebreaker with the Lancers.

Things didn't go right all night for the Eagles, who were led by 13 points from Cheyenne Wallace and 10 points from Priscilla Angeloni. Concordia turned the ball over 23 times in comparison to 17 California Baptist giveaways on the evening.

California Baptist gained its first double-digit lead of the night on a Deno trey that made the score 22-11 with 13:22 left in the first half, and although Concordia would respond with an 8-2 run to make the score 28-24 with 7:17 to go, the Lancers scored 17 of the last 18 points in the half to take a 44-25 lead into halftime.

The Eagles, who shot 42 percent (25-for-60) from the field, never came within single-digits in the second half, as Deno gave the Lancers a 20-point lead, at 62-42 with 12:35 left to play.

The Eagles were out-rebounded by a 45-37 margin and converted just six of 15 free-throw attempts (40 percent).

Nicole Davis (13) and Heather Couzens (12) each ended in double-figures for California Baptist.

Concordia next hosts the NAIA's No. 8 Point Loma Nazarene in GSAC play Tuesday (Feb. 17) starting at 5:30 p.m. at CU Arena.
