ANNAPOLIS, MD --- Concordia's push to break into the CWPA Men's Varsity Top 20 Poll got a boost today with a pair of wins under its belt against George Washington (D.C.) and Iona (NY), by scores of 18-6 and 21-7, respectively.

The Eagles open their season with a 2-0 mark and continue the Navy Tournament tomorrow with three games, including event host Navy, which is the No. 12 team in the nation.

"It was great to see our guys come out and start the season playing like they did today," head coach Steve Carrera said. "The win against Iona was a big one for us, because they beat us last year at home, so the guys had some extra incentive to really make a statement with a big score like that.

"We'll get our real first test of the season tomorrow against Navy, so we're looking forward to that."
