IRVINE, CA --- The Master's netted a golden goal 3:25 into the first overtime period, thanks to a header by Marcelo Silva, as the NAIA's No. 18-ranked Concordia suffers a 1-0 upset by the No. 22-ranked Mustangs.

Concordia was out-shot 11-9 in the loss, as it falls to 9-5-1, including 5-2-1 in Golden State Athletic Conference. The Master's improves to 12-2-1, 7-1 GSAC with its second win in as many years in head-to-head play.

The Eagles spent most of the afternoon trying to figure out goalkeeper Kevin Lawson, who only made four saves, but played an outstanding game in goal for the Mustangs.

Eagles keeper Mike Radchuk, the defending GSAC Defensive Player of the Week, made five saves himself, including two within 10 seconds of each other in the 79th minute to keep it a scoreless game and eventually send it to overtime.

The Mustangs broke through in the game's 94th minute when Jacob Marchesani lofted a free kick from 30 yards out that was tailor-made for Silva, who re-directed the ball to Radchuk's right and into the back of the net.

Concordia was shown two yellow cards on the afternoon, while The Master's was shown one, as the teams combined for 25 foulds in the game.

With their regular-season home schedule wrapped up, the Eagles next play at Hope International this coming Wednesday (Oct. 28) starting at 3 p.m. in Fullerton.
