IRVINE, CA --- The 2009 season has been over for only two weeks, but Concordia women's soccer coach Chris Gould is already looking ahead to Fall, 2010. The Eagles have announced the signing of four letters of intent for the coming year.

"This is a group of program-changing players," head coach Chris Gould said. "I'm really looking forward to seeing these players on the field."

Three of the incoming Eagles have put in club experience on Irvine Strikers Premier teams, including Lauren Nanez and Jasmine Herrera, who are teammates at La Mirada High School.

The third player who comes in with club experience with the Strikers Premier club, goalkeeper Megan Ferry helped the Strikers to a 2008 Premier League State Championship and is in her senior season at El Toro High School.

In 2007, Ferry was nominated as California Youth Soccer Association Player of the Year while playing for the So Cal Blues, and was named a Top Drawer Player to Watch in 2008 while playing for the Premier League State Champion Strikers.

Nanez, the sister of current men's soccer player Mike Sweeney, is an All-CIF first-team selection and brings in experience in a pair of club state championships, and was named to the Whittier Daily News All-Area Team and the Long Beach Press-Telegram Dream Team in 2008.

Herrera earned Whittier Daily News All-Area Team honors in 2008 as well, after scoring 20 goals and notching 11 assists as a sophomore.

The lone junior college transfer on the list of already-committed athletes, Lindsay Tackett will be a sophomore in the fall, and scored four goals while dishing out nine assists as a freshman at Miramar College.

Tackett, who prepped at Vista Murrieta High School, graduating in 2009, helped lead Miramar College to a 16-3-1 record as a freshman midfielder.

The 2009 version of the Eagles went 8-5-4 and advanced to the first round of the GSAC Playoffs, marking the seventh time in school history, and second year in a row, that the team has advanced to postseason play.
