RIVERSIDE, CA --- With a one-goal loss to avenge and its first-ever CBU Fall Classic title to claim, the nation's No. 11 Concordia didn't waste either opportunity, as the Eagles downed No. 17 California Baptist, 8-3, in the season finale.

Concordia (26-5) had thrashed Fresno Pacific by a 14-5 score earlier in the day, but that was just an appetizer for the main dish, a showdown against a CBU team that had handed CUI a 6-7 loss last Wednesday (Nov. 11) in Concordia's only home game of the year.

The Eagles picked up the lead for good midway through the second quarter, when junior utility Casey Satchel netted a goal to make the score 3-2.

CUI out-scored CBU by a 5-1 tally the rest of the way, as junior 2-meter Milos Skaljac scored all three of his goals in the second half.

Skaljac and sophomore driver Caleb Hamilton were named the tournament's Co-MVP's. Hamilton scored twice in the win over California Baptist and tallied a hat trick against Fresno Pacific in the opener.

In addition to the Co-MVP recipients, freshman goalie Martin Babovic and senior driver Jure Belamaric were also named to the All-Tournament team.

Twenty-six wins marks the winningest season in the program's three-year history, as the Eagles end with a 9-4 mark against teams currently ranked in the Collegiate Water Polo Assocation.
