SIOUX CITY, IA --- Trailing, 17-13, in the final set, it looked like the NAIA's No. 4-ranked Concordia's bid for a Pool Play sweep over No. 9 Texas at Brownsville was in jeopardy, but the Eagles battled back to complete a 25-19, 25-21, 28-26 win, securing a trip to the Single-Elimination Bracket.

The Eagles (29-7) advance to their fourth consecutive Single-Elimination Bracket, and will be in the hunt for a berth in their fourth-straight semifinal appearance against a to-be-announced opponent Friday (Dec. 4), as the 30th Annual NAIA Volleyball National Championships continues.

Texas at Brownsville drops to 33-2, as the Scorpions have a 30-match winning streak snapped to end Pool Play.

Concordia was led by 15 kills by freshman opposite Brooke Marino, who has notched double-digit kills for the third day in a row at the National Championships. Marino's effort was complimented by 12 kills from senior outside hitter Stephanie Darnall, who also notched a team-high 16 digs.

With wins in each of the first two sets, the Eagles fell behind by a 17-13 score, but went on a 4-1 rally thanks to kills from Marino and sophomore outside hitter Serrina Russo, along with a block by Russo and senior middle blocker Cassie Ells, who finished with three blocks and nine kills.

CUI didn't let off after taking the lead at 18-17 on a Marino kill, as the Eagles built up a 23-20 lead on a Scorpion service error.

The Scorpions stung back with three kills in a row to tie the score at 23-23, and the score was tied three more times before Ells made it a 27-26 lead and the Eagles clinched the win on a Scorpion hitting error.

Concordia out-hit Texas-Brownsville .330 (50-13-112) to .223 (40-15-112), and was led by 25 set assists by junior setter Renee Horton. After hitting .800 in yesterday's win, junior opposite Amber Ridens notched seven kills and hit .200 (7-4-15).
