SAN CLEMENTE, CA --- Freshman attackman Thomas Seaman registered a game-high seven points on four goals and three assists to lead Concordia to a 15-3 victory over Cal State Channel Islands in an MCLA Division II game Saturday (Jan. 30).
Junior attackman Stewart Fritchle added four goals, sophomore middie Robert Catalano scored three times and freshman middie Cameron Tablit finished with three points on two goals and an assist to help second-year Concordia (1-0) win its season opener and match its win total for all of last year.

Freshman attackman Marcus Turner had a goal and an assist, and junior attackman Chris Arzola scored once for Concordia, which won for just the second time in program history.

Cal State Channel Islands (0-1), which was playing its first game as an MCLA-sanctioned team, lost its season opener.

Concordia took control early and never let up. It was 3-1 at the end of the first quarter, 9-2 at halftime and 13-2 going into the fourth quarter.

"We were sloppy, but some of the these guys are starting to figure it out, which really makes a difference," Concordia head coach Will McMinn said. "Thomas is really the quarterback out there, and the midfield was all over the ground balls. It was a good win for the boys."
