IRVINE, CA --- Sophomore center Andre Murillo picked a fine night to turn in his best career performance, with a 20-point outburst to power the NAIA's No. 4-ranked Concordia to an 84-77 win over Westmont in a Golden State Athletic Conference showdown Thursday night.

Murillo also dished out four assists in the win, which propels the Eagles to 21-2 on the season, including 11-2 in GSAC play.

Westmont led the entire first half, and by as much as 14 points, but falls to 14-7, 6-6 GSAC with the loss.

Murillo scored the first points of the second half on a layup that shaved the Warrior lead to nine points, at 44-35, and he hauled down a rebound that set up a trey from senior guard Terrence Worthy that gave Concordia the lead for good, at 50-49 with 15:01 to play.

Neither team scored a field goal for the next 2:57, until Westmont's Dan Rasp tipped in a missed shot to make it a 52-51 ballgame. Concordia picked up its first double-digit lead of the game at 67-57, thanks to a pair of three-pointers from sophomore forward Cameron Gliddon and a trey from junior guard A.J. Gasporra as part of a 9-4 Eagle run.

CUI built up as much as a 12-point advantage when Worthy hit a fastbreak layup to make the score 76-64 with 3:29 to play, but the Warriors went to work from there, forcing five of the Eagles' 10 second-half turnovers within two minutes, and made it a 78-75 CUI lead with 45 seconds to play.

Gliddon went 2-for-2 from the line with 39 seconds left, however, stretching the lead to five poitns, at 80-75, and the Eagles hit two of their next four free throws before Worthy iced the game with a 2-for-2 effort in the final five seconds of the contest.

Worthy ended with 11 points and three steals, while junior guard Justin Johnson scored 12 points and finished with three steals as well. Gliddon finished with 17 points on five of the Eagles' eight treys.

Senior forward Dominic Cruz-Duncan netted eight points and hit four of five attempts from the charity stripe.

Sophomore guard Austin Simon made a splash in his 15 minutes off the bench, with six points and a momentum-shifting block midway through the second half.

Westmont was led by 17 and 16 points from Matt LeDuc and Blake Bender, respectively, while Dan Rasp scored 14 points and Christopher Jackson finished with a 12-point effort.

Concordia next hosts The Master's this Tuesday (Feb. 9), starting at 7:30 p.m. at CU Arena.
