LONG BEACH, CA --- With half the competition in the books and two days to go at the 2010 Pacific Collegiate Swim and Dive Conference Championships, the NAIA's No. 4-ranked Concordia men's team is in fourth of 10 teams, while the No. 4 women are 11th of 15 programs.
 
The men moved from eighth to fourth with a strong day that was highlighted by a third-place finish in the 200 free relay by the group of Eric Anderssen, Simon Harling, Craig Brazier and Mike Perry that turned in a time of 1:24.28--tops among NAIA programs at the meet.
 
Anderssen also led the NAIA with a fifth-place time of 21.02 in the 50 free, as Perry finished ninth overall, but third in the NAIA at 21.05 in the event.
 
Brazier, meanwhile, posted a time of 4:49.11 in the 500 free, which was second in the NAIA and 14th overall.
 
Aaron Woods and Ryan Larson swam the 200 IM at 1:56.46 and 1:56.44, respectively, to finish at sixth and seventh overall, as Woods turned in the second-lowest time among NAIA competitors.
 
The team had opened up the meet with NAIA second-place marks in the 200 medley and 800 free relays, and with 303 points entering tonight's competition, are second in the NAIA and just 64 points behind No. 2-ranked California Baptist.
 
On the women's side, Christine Runkle posted a second-place score of 234.05 on the 1-meter board, almost 50 points better than the nearest NAIA competition.
 
Runkle had opened up the meet with a fourth-place mark of 204.50 on the 3-meter board, which bested the nearest NAIA mark by 24 points.
 
The women also finished seventh in the 200 free relay, swimming a time of 1:41.08 to post their third top-10 relay mark of the meet. The 200 free squad is comprised of Jessi Cook, Jordyn Gosney, Tuesday Schellinger and Ana Gomez.
