IRVINE, CA --- The NAIA's No. 3-ranked Concordia took two of three in doubles and swept the singles, as the Eagles start their season at 1-0 with an 8-1 win over University of Redlands in non-conference action Friday afternoon at the CU Tennis Courts.
The Eagles turn right around and take on Biola to start their Golden State Athletic Conference season tomorrow (Saturday, Feb. 13), starting at 11 a.m. in La Mirada.
First-team NAIA All-American Jennifer Sher downed her singles opponent, 6-0, 6-1, and teamed up with Bettina Radke for an 8-0 blanking of their doubles opponent to help power the Eagles to the season-opening win.
Led by reigning NAIA Coach of the Year John Norton, Concordia is looking to improve on a 2009 campaign where it advanced all the way to the NAIA Semifinals for the first time in program history.
