LA MIRADA, CA --- The NAIA's No. 3-ranked Concordia came just three games away from sweeping all three of its doubles matches, and dropped only four games total in singles play, to sweep Biola, 9-0, in the Golden State Athletic Conference opener.
The Eagles start the season at 2-0 overall, including 1-0 in GSAC play, while Biola drops to 1-1, 0-1 GSAC.
Jennifer Sher and Bettina Radke started the day off with an 8-1 victory over Joelle Tanaka and Brea Roth, and Concordia kept its momentum with 8-0 wins in the other two doubles matches.
Sher, a first-team NAIA All-American, turned around to take care of Tanaka by scores of 6-0, 6-0, and Sabrina Man-Son-Hing played the closest match of the day, taking down Mariah Pace by margins of 6-0 and 6-3.
Concordia next plays at The Master's College this Tuesday (Feb. 16), starting at 2 p.m. in Santa Clarita.
