RIVERSIDE, CA --- Of Concordia's nine missed free throws, none loomed larger than three missed opportunities at the line in a six-second span that would have tied the game, but instead turned the momentum to California Baptist, which closed the Eagles by a 90-80 score Saturday night.

Concordia (10-13, including 3-12 in Golden State Athletic Conference play) was down four points, at 74-70 with 2:32 left on the clock and junior guard Nicole Fu at the charity stripe, but she missed both shots before junior forward Cheyenne Wallace went 1-for-2 from the line with 2:26 remaining.

The Eagles went 20-for-29 (69 percent) from the line, including 10-for-14 in the second half, in a game with nine tied scores and 13 lead changes.

California Baptist hit 69 percent (29-for-42) of its free throws as well, but led for the final nine minutes of the game to improve to 12-13, 5-10 GSAC.

Fu and junior guard Britnie Priest scored 20 points apiece, while senior guard Kayanna Nichols hit four treys and finished with 16 points.

The Eagles shot 50 percent (10-for-20) from beyond the arc, compared to just 38 percent (15-for-40) in two-point attempts on the night.

CUI led by a 61-60 margin with 9:26 remaining, but surrendered the lead for good when CBU's Kendra Morris hit hit her first of two free throws and drained a three-pointer to put the Lancers ahead by a score of 64-61 with 9:08 left to play.

Nichols hit a three-pointer to make it a two-point deficit at 72-70 with 3:58 to play, but that was as close as the Eagles would come the rest of the way, as CBU went 9-for-10 from the line in the game's final 44 seconds.

CBU was led by 25 points from Brenna Hahn and 21 points from Morris.

Mired in a six-game losing streak, Concordia next plays at the NAIA's No. 5-ranked Point Loma Nazarene this Tuesday (Feb. 16), starting at 5:30 p.m.
