COLORADO SPRINGS, CO --- Concordia head coach
Kyle Kvasnicka has been selected to the head coaching staff of the U.S. Girls' Select A1 National Team (GSA1) that will compete at the 2010 USA Volleyball High Performance Championships.
Kvasnicka joins St. Louis University head coach Anne Kordes, Iowa State head coach Christy Johnson-Lynch, University of Arizona associate head coach Steve Walker, 2000 U.S. Olympian Charlene Johnson-Tagaloa and UC Irvine assistant coach Ben Bodipo-Memba in the program.
"I have been working with USA Volleyball for the past seven years," Kvasnicka said. "I am really excited to get to work along side some of the best coaches in the country. I have a lot of respect for each one of them and what they have done at their programs.
"Volleyball is a constantly changing sport. Working along side these other coaches will allow me the opportunity to learn from them and what they do to make themselves and their programs so successful. I am also looking forward to working with some of the best young volleyball players from around the country. It is exciting to see their passion and energy for the game at this age."
The program, which represents teams with athletes born from 1996-99, will compete during the 2010 USA Volleyball High Performance Championships held July 26-30 in Wisconsin Dells, Wisc.
Kvasnicka recently completed his first season as Concordia's head coach, after serving as the top assistant from 2005-08. In 2009, he led the Eagles to an NAIA National Championship Semifinals appearance and a 30-8 overall record.
