IRVINE, CA --- For the second year in a row, the top two players for the NAIA's No. 5-ranked Concordia earned All-GSAC honors, as senior Augusto Elias and junior Andrey Potapkin were recognized as two of the conference's best players Tuesday.
Playing exclusively as the No. 1 player in singles action, Elias went 10-9, including 8-6 in Golden State Athletic Conference competition. He also went 13-5 in doubles play, including an 8-5 mark in conference tilts.
Potapkin held down the fort at No. 2 singles, where he posted a record of 15-3, including 11-3 in GSAC play. He went 14-5 in doubles action, playing at the No. 1 spot with Bruno Santarelli.
At the Ojai Valley Tennis Tournament, Elias advanced to the semifinal round in singles, while Potapkin paired with Bruno Santarelli for a semifinal appearance in doubles.
Sitting at 15-4, Concordia's next match is will take place at the 2010 NAIA Men's Tennis National Championship May 18-24 in Mobile, Ala. To view the tournament bracket and more information about the event, click
