IRVINE, CA --- For the second year in a row,
Jennifer Sher,
Jordan Kimura and
Bettina Radke earned All-GSAC honors, but it was the first year Radke received the award as an Eagle, as the NAIA's No. 4-ranked Concordia made a strong showing in the conference nods Tuesday.
Radke and Sher were both NAIA All-American first-team selections a year ago, but Radke won the award as a member of Hope International. The pair advanced to the semifinals at the Ojai Valley Tennis Tournament as a doubles tandem, and Radke played into the semifinal round in singles as well.
Kimura, who earned NAIA All-American second-team honors as a 2009 freshman, has gone 21-0 so far this year, and finished GSAC play at 15-0, playing 10 of those matches at No. 4. In doubles play, Kimura went 17-3 overall, including a record of 12-2 in conference tilts.
In her first year donning the green and gold, Radke has gone 14-2, including 9-2 GSAC play, competing primarily at the No. 2 position. She went 16-3 from the No. 1 position of doubles action, and posted a 12-1 mark in conference competition.
Sher paired with Radke at the top position of doubles, and went 17-2, including 12-1 in conference play. As the top singles player on the team, she went 11-6, including 6-5 in GSAC.
Concordia next competes at the 2010 NAIA Women's Tennis National Championships May 18-22 in Mobile, Ala. For more information about the national tournament, click
