IRVINE, CA --- Redshirt freshman Andrew Brooks is making his mark in summer ball, as the right-handed pitcher was named the River Valley League Pitcher of the Week last week following a six-inning shutout performance where he notched eight strikeouts last week.

Brooks was joined by Michael Mendoza on the weekly awards, as the junior infielder was named the league's Gold Glove of the Week after notching 13 assists and 13 putouts without an error.

Brooks, Mendoza and 2010 freshman Shayne O'Connell were all three named to the conference All-Star Team, while 2010 freshman hurler Sam Lindsey was named a California Collegiate League All-Star as well.
