A standout tennis player at the NCAA Div. I level, Jonathan Sanchez begins his second season as a head coach for Concordia men’s and women’s tennis.

In his first season at the programs’ respective helms, Sanchez led the women to a 15-8 mark and a quarterfinals appearance at the NAIA National Championships while guiding the men to a second round finish and a record of 9-15.

Sanchez inherited a women's program that had advanced to the NAIA National Championships semifinals for two consecutive seasons and a men's program that had made the quarterfinal round two times in a row as well.

As a player, Sanchez served as team captain in his senior year at Brigham Young, where he played at the No. 1 position of both singles and doubles in his final collegiate campaign.

At Brigham Young, Sanchez both played for and coached with Intercollegiate Tennis Association Hall of Famer Brad Pearce, who was ranked as high as No. 71 in the world during his career in the professional circuit.

Sanchez has been coaching and giving private lessons at Fullerton and La Habra Tennis Centers since returning to Southern California, where he graduated from Servite High School in Anaheim back in 2004.

He spent his summers while a college student coaching at Rosary High School Summer Tennis Camp at the Fullerton Tennis Center, where he began coaching junior players.

Sanchez, a regular attendee at Eastside Christian Church in Fullerton, received the Southern California Sportsmanship Award while a prep at Servite, which won the CIF State Championship in 2004.

Sanchez is single and lives in Fullerton. 

In his first coaching stint at the collegiate level, Tyrone Wang joined head coach Jonathan Sanchez as an assistant coach for Concordia men’s and women’s tennis in the 2011 season.

Wang, who played the 2005-06 seasons at Cal Poly Pomona, began his coaching career in at La Habra Tennis Center back in the summer of 2004, and has been affiliated with the organization ever since.

Wang played four years of varsity tennis at Servite High School, winning the 2000 CIF title, and he played 29 individual matches over two years at the collegiate level.

He earned his bachelor’s degree from Cal Poly Pomona in 2010, graduating with his degree in business finance.

Wang is single and lives in Fullerton. 

A former collegiate top competitor, Das played for BYU and went on to the Men's Pro Tour. USTA rankings include being ranked #5 nationally in Boys 18s, #1 in SoCal Boys 18s and 16s. More than 5 years coaching experience, Das brings his experience and expertise in guiding the teams to their goals of nationals.
