Crystal Rosenthal - Head Coach - 3rd Season
Head Coach
Looking to improve upon a very successful first two years at the Concordia Softball helm, Crystal Rosenthal is in her third year as head coach.
Rosenthal was promoted to her current post prior to the 2009 season after serving as an Eagles assistant coach for seven years.
Under Rosenthal's leadership, the Eagles immediately turned around a two-year trend where they finished with a record well under .500 in Golden State Athletic Conference play, as they tallied a 15-9 conference mark.
Rosenthal's Eagles followed up a 41-win season in 2009 with a 42-win campaign in 2010, leading her team to back-to-back NAIA National Championships appearances, where Concordia finished in pool play both seasons.
Before coaching at Concordia, Rosenthal spent time as the varsity assistant coach at Calvary Chapel High in Costa Mesa
A four-year player at Concordia, Rosenthal was a team captain for two seasons. She ranks among the top ten in 15 categories for single-season and career marks. Rosenthal posted 151 hits, including 21 doubles and five triples and knocked in 81 runs.
She was inducted into the Concordia Athletics Hall of Fame in 2008 for her career performance on the diamond.
Rosenthal prepped at Valley Christian High School in Bellflower
Rosenthal earned her bachelor's in history and political science from Concordia, graduating in 2000, and earned her master's in coaching and athletic administration from Concordia in 2006.
Rosenthal lives in Aliso Viejo.
Ashley Evans - Grad Assistant - 4th Season
Grad Assistant
A three-time All-GSAC selection as a player, Ashley Evans returns for her fourth year on the coaching staff.
Evans played at Concordia from 2004-07, and was named to the all-conference squad in
three season, becoming just the second player in school history to earn the honor three times.
As a 2004 freshman, Evans set the school record with seven triples, and currently holds fi ve career records: at-bats (686), runs (145), hits (247), triples (18), and multi-hit
games (75).
Evans earned GSAC and NAIA Scholar-Athlete accolades as a 2006 junior.
She graduated in 2007 with a bachelor of arts in history and a minor in political science.
Alex Ariaz - Assistant Coach - 4th Season
Assistant Coach
After playing for two years at Concordia, Alex Ariaz now begins her fourth season as an assistant coach for Eagles Softball.
Ariaz made 20 appearances in the circle as a 2006 junior, posting a 3-1 record and a 3.23 ERA in 52 innings. She then hit .279 as a 2007 senior, driving in 19 RBI and scoring
18 runs as a catcher.
Before playing at Concordia, Ariaz was an all-conference honorable mention honoree at Riverside Community College
Ariaz graduated from Concordia with her bachelor's degree in 2007.
Rose Imbriano - Assistant Coach - 12th Season
Assistant Coach
A four-year standout at Pac-10 power University of Oregon
Over her four years as a Duck (1992-95), Imbriano played shortstop and first base, ending her career with 1,200 putouts and 111 assists against just 16 errors for a .988 career fielding percentage.
In her senior year, Imbriano started all 51 games and played 58 of 60 games in her junior year, where her team went 38-22 and advanced to the NCAA Regional at Fresno State
After winning the Most Improved Oregon Duck Athlete in her freshman campaign, Imbriano earned team Defensive MVP honors as a senior. Imbriano was the career record-holder in sacrifices until 2004, and laid down a team-high 19 sac bunts as a
junior.
After graduating with her bachelor's degree in 1995, Imbriano spent the following summer volunteering with Campus Crusade for Christ's Athletes in Action, and served in a volunteer role at Concordia from 2000-09 before becoming a full-time assistant in the summer of 2009.
Imbriano served as co-head coach for club team California Cruisers from 2001-09, and began her coaching career as head coach for Calvary Chapel High School in Santa Ana
Imbriano earned her bachelor's in journalism from Oregon in 1995 and completed her MBA at Concordia in 2007.
