Martin Gonzalez - Head Coach - 11th Season
Head Coach
At the outset of his 11th year at Concordia, Martin Gonzalez has been at his programs' post longer than any other coach on the athletics staff.
Gonzalez coaches the cross country and the track and field programs on the men's and women's side.
In his 10 years at Concordia, Gonzalez has garnered Coach of the Year recognition a total of 15 times, most recently earning honors as the 2008 GSAC Track and Field Coach of the Year.
Overall, Gonzalez has coached six individual champions and 68 individual NAIA All-Americans, including nine in a 2007 indoor track and field season.
Gonzalez' men's and women's cross country programs both won GSAC titles in 2005 and 2006, and the men's team captured a GSAC title in 2007 en route to an 11th-place finish at the national meet.
Concordia won its first-ever national title in 2000, Gonzalez' first year, with a first-place finish in women's cross country, It marked the first time that a West-Coast NAIA school had won a national crown in the first 20 years of the national championship history.
In 2005 and 2006, Gonzalez led the cross country programs to a Combined Men's and Women's National Title, as the men's teams finished in second place both years and the women's finished fifth and third place, respectively.
In track and field, Gonzalez' teams have twice finished as high as eighth place on the national stage, as his men's team finished eighth in the 2007 NAIA Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championship. The women also earned a No. 8 finish in the 2005 NAIA Women's Indoor Track and Field Championship.
Gonzalez, a graduate of Anaheim 's Magnolia High School , earned his bachelor's from Adams State (Colo. Adams State
Vivien Wadeck - Assistant Coach - 1st Season
Assistant Coach
Vivien Wadeck begins her first year as an assistant coach for Concordia cross country.
Wadeck is a graduate of Cal State L.A., where she competed on both the track and cross country teams from 2008-10 and received academic All-American status.
A three-time All-American, including two in cross country and one in track (5K), Wadeck was the runner-up to the national champion in the 5K in 2009, and captured back-to-back conference championships in cross country. She also earned conference titles in the 1500 and 5K.
She began her collegiate career as a standout at Glendale College
Wadeck received her bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism in May, 2010.
