Welcome to the CAATE Accredited Athletic Training Program Concordia University, Irvine
On behalf of the Exercise and Sports Science Division, the Athletic Department and the Athletic Training Staff, we welcome you to the ATEP at Concordia University, Irvine. Our mission is to provide a didactic and clinical education program that will prepare our students for professional careers as Certified Athletic Trainers. We also have the unique opportunity to help our students uphold the mission of Concordia University, Irvine by preparing our young men and women for lifelong learning, service and leadership in a Christian environment.
The small college atmosphere at Concordia University, Irvine allows us to provide a personal education for each student. This also allows us to focus on two important areas:
- A Higher Standard of Care: Each student knows what to expect from the staff and what we expect from each student.
- An Increased Emphasis on the Education of Student Athletic Trainers: There is an increased opportunity and emphasis placed on the evaluation of student athletic trainers in the cognitive and technical aspects of athletic training.
We hope you will find this program unique. We strive to provide a student friendly environment where the athletic training student can continue to learn, mature and eventually serve their communities.
