Kent Schlichtemeier
Inducted in 2006
Coach
As an Eagle

Kent Schlichtemeier is responsible for beginning the winning tradition of Concordia University Women's Basketball.

He compiled a five-year record of 82-63 (.566), but finished his stint with a mark of 71-19 (.789) over his final three seasons.

The Golden State Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 1992, Schlichtemeier led the Eagles to their first-ever GSAC championship and the first conference crown for any Concordia team. That season, the Eagles also became the first in school history to win a NAIA District III championship and made their first of back-to-back appearances at the NAIA National Tournament.

Schlichtemeier had back-to-back 25-win seasons from 1991-93, which is still the second-most for a single season in program history. The 1992-93 team became the first of any Concordia program to post a perfect record in GSAC play (10-0) and won a record 16-straight games to conclude the regular season.

In just five years, he coached eight all-GSAC players, three all-Americans and three all-America Scholar-Athletes. Among all of his on-court accomplishments, he was also able to instill Christian values in his players and coach with character and class.

Though he no longer coaches at Concordia, Schlichtemeier is still an adjunct professor in the graduate theology program.

He is also a teacher at Lutheran High School in Orange.
