Mary Scott was a pioneer of the Christ College Irvine athletic program in the 1980's as a coach and athletic director.

Her invaluable leadership helped guide the CCI programs as the school transitioned into the Concordia University system and as the department moved from membership in the West Coach Athletic Association (WCAA) into the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).

Mary spent ten seasons as the head coach for Concordia Volleyball from 1985-1995 and holds record for most coaching victories. She was also one of the first women's basketball coaches, guiding the Lady Eagles from 1985-1988.

She not only served Concordia but served the conference and national associations, acting as the Vice President for the Golden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) from 1994-1996. Mary was also a member of the NAIA's council of Athletic Administration and served on executive committees for both the GSAC and NAIA. She also acted as an NAIA District III Volleyball Chair and twice earned NAIA District III Athletic Administrator of the Year honors (1991-1992).

After retiring from coaching in 1995 and leaving the athletic department in 1996, Mary remained at Concordia University where she is the Executive Vice President and Provost.

She currently lives in Irvine with her husband Dan.
