Josh was a three-time All-GSAC selection and was twice named to NAIA All-American teams. He was also the leader of the 1999 men's basketball team that made it's first appearance at the NAIA national tournament, making a historic cinderella run into the elite eight. Giles still holds five single-game and single-season records. He has the second highest single-game point total ever, scoring 44 points against California Baptist in 1999.

He coached the freshman team for two years and was a varsity assistant coach on the 2000-2001 CIF Southern Section Champion team. His team went 20-8 in 2003-2004 and won the Mountain View League championship.
