In head coach Jim Brewer's second season the Concordia cross country teams took a giant step on the national stage, especially the women's squad who spent the entire season ranked in the NAIA Top-25 and finished 11th at the NAIA National Championships, their first trip since 2009.

The Concordia cross country teams completed the 2012 NAIA Cross Country National Championships, presented by Nike in Fort Vancouver National Historic Site, Vancouver, Washington this past Saturday, November 17th. It was the fourth-consecutive year that the NAIA Cross Country National Championships were held at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site. It was hosted by the Cascade Collegiate Conference and Concordia University-Portland (Ore.).
The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced that 317 women's cross country student-athletes have been named 2012 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes. Laura Pluemer, with a 3.56 GPA, was selected to represent Concordia.
In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.

The Concordia cross country teams competed in the GSAC Championship hosted by Biola University Saturday morning, November 3rd, at Irvine Regional Park. The women's team thrived, with senior, Rocio Pelayo placing first in the entire women's run. The men's team competed as well, with senior, Rick Avila placing second in the men's run.

The Concordia cross country teams competed in the CSU San Marcos Cougars 5K/8K Challenge this past Saturday morning, October 20th. Both the women's and men's cross country teams competed well, with senior Rocio Pelayo finishing first for the women's team and senior, Ricky Avila finishing first for the men.
