Glory Fung - Head Athletic Trainer - Years at school: 2
Hometown: Lake Forest, CA

 

Glory Fung came to Concordia in 2012 to become the new Head Athletic Trainer.  Fung comes most recently from Azusa Pacific, where he was an assistant athletic trainer from 2007-2012.  Other than overseeing the entire Concordia Athletic Training Department, he will work directly with cross country and softball.

Fung earned his B.A. from Azusa Pacific University and his M.A. from San Jose State University.  He worked with football and track & field at APU.  He also spent time at California Baptist and Cal State Monterey Bay.

He is certified with the NAIA and played basketball and tennis.  Fung lives with his wife Jackie, and their children Rierra (3) and Selah (2).  He enjoys watching ESPN, working with a junior high ministry, mission trips, and family time.

 
 
Jennifer Rizzo - ATEP Program Director - Years at school: 11
Hometown: San Juan Capistrano, CA

 

Jennifer Rizzo started her career at Concordia University in 2002 as a student-athlete on the volleyball team majoring in athletic training. Upon graduating, she became the graduate assistant athletic trainer while getting her Master’s in business administration. In 2005 she was hired as a full time Assistant Athletic Trainer. She did not stay in that position long, becoming assistant professor in Exercise and Sport Science in 2007. In 2011 Rizzo became the ATEP Program Director and she continues to work with the volleyball program.

Rizzo earned her B.A. in exercise and sport science, emphasis on athletic training in 2003 from Concordia University Irvine. In 2005 she earned her Master’s in business administration, also from Concordia University. She is currently working on her Ed D from the United States Sports Academy.

Rizzo played volleyball in college at Georgia State University and continues to enjoy recreational volleyball. She also enjoys hiking mountains such as Kilimanjaro and being in the outdoors. Her only child is her cute puppy Joey.  

 
 
Jessina Manio - Assistant Athletic Trainer - Years at school: 7
Hometown: Costa Mesa, CA

 

Jessina Manio begins her sixth season as an athletic trainer at Concordia University in 2012-2013.  She previously served as the head athletic trainer at Corona Del Mar High School in Newport Beach, CA from 2002-2007.  Manio will work with soccer and baseball in the upcoming season.

Manio earned her bachelor's in kinesiology and athletic training from CSU Hayward.  She got her Masters of Arts in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia.  She worked with the Fellowships of Christian Athletes at UCLA in 2010 and 2011.  Manio has also worked with Competitive Edge International Softball and Professional Development League Soccer.  She is a Certified Athletic Trainer and CPR Professional Rescuer.

She lives with her husband Allan in Yorba Linda, CA.  Her previous athletic endeavors include softball.  Manio enjoys going to the beach, watching UFC with friends, traveling, and watching Angel and Steeler games.

 
 
Chris Cooper - Assistant Athletic Trainer - Years at school: 4
Hometown: Willows, CA

 

Chris Cooper begins his third season with Concordia in 2012-2013.  He worked as a graduate assistant prior and became an assistant athletic trainer in the spring of 2012.  He earned his Bachelor's in athletic training from Azusa Pacific University and his associate's degree from Butte College (Butte, CA) in social and behavioral science.  Cooper earned his Master's from Concordia.  He will work with women's basketball and track & field programs this upcoming season.

Cooper has worked with Baseball Factory Camps and Tournaments.  He is a certified CPR & AED as a Professional Rescuer.  He is certified in Standard First Aid.

He played baseball at Azusa Pacific, and enjoys watching Major League Baseball and playing golf.

 
 
Ashlee Harlow - Assistant Athletic Trainer - Years at school: 2
Hometown: Rancho Santa Margarita, CA

 

Ashlee Harlow joined the Concordia Athletic Training staff in 2012 as an assistant athletic trainer.  She earned her B.A. in athletic training form Point Loma Nazarene University and M.S. in exercise and sports science from Boise State University.  She will work with men's basketball and men's lacrosse teams in 2012-2013.

Harlow was the head athletic trainer for the SLO Blues Summer Baseball teams from 2005-2007.  She has taken mission trips to Zimbabwe, Belize, Ukraine, and Moldova.  She is certified with the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification.

She enjoys cooking and rooting for the Yankees, Steelers, and Lakers.  Harlow also works with a high school youth group at Foothills Church.  She played water polo and swam.

 
 
Rachel Wilson - Graduate Assistant - Years at school: 2
Hometown: Monrovia, CA

 

Rachel Wilson comes to Concordia as an athletic training graduate from Long Beach State.  In 2013 she will work with soccer and tennis.  Wilson has worked with the California Baseball Winter League in Palm Springs, CA.  She is from Monrovia, CA and enjoys watching the LA Dodgers, LA Kings, going to the beach, traveling, and cooking.  Her previous athletic endeavors include volleyball, softball, shot put, and discuss.

 
 
Jayme Barbeau - Graduate Assistant - Years at school: 2
Hometown: Santa Maria, CA

 

Jayme Barbeau joins the Concordia Athletic Training in 2012 as a graduate assistant.  She earned her B.S.  in kinesiology and athletic training from Fresno State University.  She will work with the aquatics program in 2012-2013.

Barbeau has worked with Fresno State cheerleading and track & field, and cross country.  She worked with the Santa Maria Valley Packers Baseball team in 2009.  She is certified with the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification.  She is an American Red Cross Professional Rescuer (CPR/AED) and has her Y-Balance certification.

She enjoys gymnastics, baking, and making hats.  She ran track & field.

 
 
Jamie Rodgers - Graduate Assistant - Years at school: 2
Hometown: San Francisco, CA

 

Jamie Rodgers joined the Concordia Athletic Training staff in 2012 as a graduate assistant.  He earned his Bachelor's from Chapman University in athletic training.  He will work with the J Serra Catholic HS football in team in the fall and Concordia men's volleyball team in the spring in 2012-2013.

He has worked with the San Francisco 49ers, and FCA Football and Volleyball Camps.  He is certified in CPR, BOC, and first aid. 

Rodgers enjoys drawing, painting, beach volleyball, and basketball.  He played football and ran track & field.
